River Oaks Middle School features two programs for referred Wake County middle school students. Our base program serves students who are not finding success in their base school. This lack of success may be attributed to several factors, such as motivation, minor behavioral issues, or adjustment issues. We offer all core academic subjects, as well as small class sizes and academic enrichment. Our second program, The Booster Program, is a rigorous academic program designed to help overage seventh and eighth grade students, who meet acceptance criteria, get on track for high school graduation.
National Assessment of Educational Progress
Our 8th Graders have been selected to represent hundreds of thousands of students across our country by participating in the National Assessment of Educational Progress 2014 Assessment.
On February 27, 2014 our 8th Graders will take the NAEP test at 8:00 am. The test will cover questions on US History, Civics, and/or Geography. If you or your student would like to review sample questions, you can visit (click on NAEP WEBSITE) the following website for more information.
We are fortunate that our school has been selected to participate in NAEP. We know that our 8th Graders will do their best to accurately represent their achievement.
